You will first discuss your medical history with the physician to determine if you are suitable for the treatment. The physician and medical staff will explain how the LIPOcel works and potential contraindications to treatment. If you are accepted for care, our staff will conduct a series of body composition assessments that will include:
- Body Fat percentage
- Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Visceral Fat Level
- Skeletal Muscle %
- Resting Metabolism
- Body Age
We will take a series of sophisticated 3-dimensional photographs using the Canfield Vectra H2 camera system. This will enable the doctor to monitor your progress in an objective manner with high definition images. The software provides accurate measurements of the areas of your body that are treated and will even calculate an estimation for the amount of volume that has changed (i.e., reduced fat) from the LIPOcel treatment.
Using the LIPOcel handpiece, we will direct High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) energy into your unwanted fat after marking the treatment area and spraying sterilized water on it. Each treatment area typically takes about 30 minutes. Some patients may feel a heating sensation or a mild ache in their muscles during this time, but many find it completely painless. This treatment provides a comfortable patient experience that does not require anesthesia. With LIPOcel’s patented contact cooling system, maximum heat is delivered without causing pain or disruption to the surface of the skin.
Your skin may appear pink for a short period of time, but it should dissipate soon. There is no downtime after treatment and normal activities can be immediately resumed. The physician and staff will explain aftercare procedures to be done at home as well as lymphatic stimulation treatments done here in the office, as well as what you should avoid.
